Raising a New Generation Rooted in the Word of God
A Letter From the Field
I have to give you kudos. We had just started going to church August 2009 when Mya started participating in the Good News Club. She was saved the first day of Good News Club. I wasn't saved until Feb 14, 2010, but was able to share in the baptism experience with her when we both got baptized in March 2010.
Thank you for your faithfulness and devotion.

Thank you,
Brooke Whitaker
This is a letter from one of the parents of a child in the Good News Club and I wanted to share it as a bit of encouragement as we begin our new year in the clubs. Your efforts are making such a difference, Thank you.
backyard.This
year as we were preparing to do this I happened to read the “ingredients” on the box of seeds and was surprised at what I found. First, I noticed that this was a fairly large box compared to the small amount of seeds inside. I was also puzzled when I read the “ingredients” because it said that 97% of what was in this rather large and attractively decorated box was “inert material.” In other words it was nothing!I also found that the only thing that I was interested in, the only thing of real value t me, the seeds, were almost non-existent. I dumped the contents into my hand and much to my dismay found that the box was correct as it looked like nearly all of it was saw dust.
This thought reminds me of God’s desire for holiness in my life and in yours as well.
Sometimes we who are followers of Jesus Christ can become very focused on many other things, to the neglect of the thing that matters most. In 1 Peter 1:16 the Bible says, "You Shall Be Holy, For I Am Holy." This is the strategy that we are to use within not only our ministry but in our lives as well. This is the standard that God uses to measure our progress. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” This lets us know that our position before God in Christ is that of being holy, however in the process of sanctification we are still being made to be like Christ. This in part involves choices that we make each day. Have you chosen to allow sin to go un-confessed in your life? Are you daily yielding to the leading of the Holy Spirit?
As we enter into a new season of ministry; whether you’re a volunteer, a prayer warrior, or a donor may I remind you of the high importance of holiness in your life? May I also encourage you to allow the Lord to show you if there’s a problem and then surrender to His leading?
I’m so looking forward to the great work that God will do through you His pure and holy vessel, and if your looking to buy some good wildflower seeds stay away from the discount aisle. They don’t work very well.

It’s such a blessing to be part of the work that God is doing through the team that makes up Child Evangelism Fellowship® of East Central Florida. In the past three years we’ve seen so much growth that only could be attributed to the move of God. During that time several new people have joined the team and we want to take a moment to familiarize them with an inside look into the ministry of CEF.Child Evangelism Fellowship is an international mission organization serving in 162 countries. Our chapter here in the east central Florida area is part of that international work. Our job is to minister to the boys and girls here in this area by partnering with local churches to train their workers and assist them in establishing Good News Club ministries for boys and girls in the public schools. Primarily the work is accomplished through dedicated volunteers who go into the schools each week to teach and minister to the children. It costs about $4,242 per club to disciple those children during the school year and all funding comes through the partnership of individual believers along with local churches. Currently in our chapter we have two paid staff positions and those are being filled by Andrew Ward and Israel Knox. Andrew is a fulltime missionaries supported totally through the donations that are sent into the local office, Israel’s pay also comes from the donations, however he is not classified as a missionary.
In addition to the funding required to pay our staff there are operational, administrative and materials costs that must be provided for in order for ministry to happen. Our budgeting is divided into two categories: Operational which includes Israel’s salary, the other is designated gifts for Andrew Ward’s salary. Only gifts designated with a missionaries name go into their account, otherwise all donations go to the general fund.
If you examine our budget you’ll see that it’s made up of only the essentials we need to disciple the children. In fact when we break down the costs we find that on average we spend a total of only $3 per child per week to engage in this very effective ministry.
Ultimately it’s God who provides, but He chooses to work through His people in whom He entrusts the stewardship of time, talent, and treasure.
Will you use those gifts to help CEF of East Central Florida reach the boys and girls?
